Several years ago, towards the end of the COVID lock-downs, I started a blog on my fitness journey. It was mostly a way for me to write and capture what I was doing to change my habits and who I was into a better me. As Adam Grant said, “Writing is a tool for thinking,” and my blog back then was a way for me to capture my thoughts.

Additionally, I posted my current status, actions, successes, and failures publicly on my WordPress site as a way to develop accountability. I doubt anyone ever read a single post, but the fact that it was out there made me vulnerable and failure became a public embarrassment.

After beginning my MBA, I gave up the blog but not the work I had begun to be a better me. After reading Nick Gray’s newsletter on why I should have a personal presence on the internet, I decided to try this again. Only this time it would be about all of me, rather than just the me I was trying to change.

I’ll repost some of my old content here to get started as I feel many of the concepts may still be beneficial to many readers who stumble on my page. For now I’ll leave you with these favorite quotes of mine on writing.

You really don’t understand your thoughts until you express them in words. -Elmer L. Towns

Thoughts disentangle themselves passing over the lips and through pencil tips. – Anonymous
